2nd Annual Top Flight Pitch Night has a Winner

(Montgomery, Ala.) — MGMWERX, in conjunction with Air University, hosted the 2nd Annual Top Flight Pitch Night on May 18. Three contestants presented their research to an online audience and panel of judges. The pitch competition highlighted solutions, ideas, and products that make our nation’s warfighter better. Though all of the pitched solutions will be further supported, there was one presentation that stood out and was awarded the Top Flight award.

Air University’s Major Marcus Laird earned top honors from the panel and was deemed the winner of Top Flight Pitch Night. This year MGMWERX introduced the People’s Choice award as an additional distinction. With 950 votes from the community, Captain Wesley “Rock” Reid was awarded the People’s choice award.

MGMWERX will work with each participant to move their projects forward by providing connections with industry and Air Force resources.

MGMWERX was created under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement to align with the education initiatives of the U.S. Air Force’s Air University. MGMWERX augments ongoing Air University programs, through events like Pitch Night, to enhance the production of high-quality, innovative research and ideas that span issues of importance to the Air Force. This includes, but is not limited to, doctrine, strategies, capability needs, operational concepts, training, education, and science and technology.
