Monday, May 10, MGMWERX was proud to host DEFENSEWERX’s Board of Directors member, Bernard Johnson. After a quick tour of the Montgomery, AL Innovation Hub, MGMWERX Director, Brig. Gen (Ret.) Trent Edwards, introduced MGMWERX Staff to Mr. Johnson and explained the various programs, projects, and services provided by MGMWERX.
“It is so important for DEFENSEWERX to understand the unique position of MGMWERX,” said Brig. Gen Edwards, “As Montgomery moves into the knowledge-based economy, DEFENSEWERX’s full investment in our Innovation Hub is critical.”
Bernard Johnson is the Regional Manager for the Central District at Gulf Power Company, a NextEra Energy subsidiary headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida. In this role, Johnson is responsible for the Customer Service, Sales and Operations, and Economic Development in the Fort Walton District. Bernard serves as a representative of Gulf Power on many community boards and with government officials. Johnson has connections to the Alabama as a Tuskegee University Alum.
“MGMWERX does outstanding work with outstanding people. Montgomery is rich in history and opportunity and I am glad to support any effort that helps uplift our communities,” Johnson commented.
MGMWERX was created under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement to align with the education initiatives of Air University. MGMWERX augments ongoing Air University programs, through events like Pitch Night, to enhance the production of high-quality, innovative research and ideas that span issues of importance to the Air Force. This includes, but is not limited to, doctrine, strategies, capability needs, operational concepts, training, education, and science and technology.
