Halcyon Elementary K12 Pitch Competition

MGMWERX, in partnership with Alabama Power, hosted the inaugural elementary school pitch competition: “If It Is To be…It Begins With Me!” Twelve students from Halcyon Elementary’s Fifth Grade class, along with a teacher/facilitator, presented topics to a panel of judges to compete for a $5,000 donation. The topics included a recycling program, a cultural diversity book club, upgraded robotics programs/lab, and outdoor learning spaces. All participating students received a medal and certificate of appreciation. The winning groups, “Halcyon Coding Corporation” and "Environmental Friendly Action Plan Club (EFAP)," received a $5,000 donation to complete their respective projects. Additionally, each student from the winning teams received a Quest 2 Oculus headset as a surprise gift.
