MONTGOMERY, Ala. – MGMWERX, an innovation hub of DEFENSEWERX, officially launched its website, www.mgmwerx.org, Sept. 27.
The website is a tool designed to enhance the collaborative nature of the organization’s mission by providing information, resources, and input mechanisms for people interested in working on the strategic and technical challenges associated with maintaining U.S. national security.
MGMWERX facilitates and accelerates experimentation with emerging technologies to solve real-world problems by integrating academia, non-traditional collaborators, regional economic developers and industry with Air University’s research and processes to get innovation to the warfighter faster.
The website fosters engagement through features like:
- Ecosystem Awareness and Membership: As part of the DEFENSEWERX ecosystem, MGMWERX connects to a national network that shares and leverages derived solutions for the mutual benefit of the Air Force and the external community. Joining the MGMWERX ecosystem affords individuals and organizations an opportunity to get involved in creating tangible solutions through innovation and collaboration, workforce development, tech transfer and rapid prototyping activities.
- Upcoming Events Calendar: This page features current collaboration events that MGMWERX hosts or participates in with partner organizations. People can get involved by checking here for the next opportunity to engage with the MGMWERX ecosystem.
- Submit an Idea: People with an idea to share that may help the warfighter can submit ideas, upload plans, and communicate with interested end users.
In addition to being mobile-friendly, the MGMWERX website also feature integrated social media, easy navigation, and quick access links to the MGMWERX team.

Located in Montgomery, Ala., MGMWERX was created under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement between DEFENSEWERX and the Air Force Research Laboratory to align with the education initiatives of the U.S. Air Force’s Air University. MGMWERX augments ongoing Air University programs to enhance production of high-quality, innovative research and ideas that span issues of importance to the Air Force. This includes, but is not limited to, doctrine, strategies, capability needs, operational concepts, training, education, and science and technology.
