MGMWERX was recognized as an Outstanding Partner by the Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) School Board of Education. Dr. Starks, Principal of Booker T. Washington, nominated the downtown innovation hub for the award. MGMWERX launched the first VR Academy in Central Alabama at Booker T. Washington Magnet High School in April of this year.
The Outstanding Partner award is given to business partners that have gone above and beyond to support MPS. Principals nominate an organization, and each is recognized by MPS for their contribution and for supporting the MPS school system.
“It’s always exciting to be recognized for your positive contributions to the local community. This is especially exciting since the reason for receiving the award, the VR Academy, is the first of its kind from Laboki to be stationed in Central Alabama,” stated Joyce Vaughn, Marketing & Events Manager for MGMWERX. “We greatly appreciate the nomination and recognition from Dr. Starks and MPS. We hope to continue partnerships like this on behalf of our military partner – Air University.”
MGMWERX was created under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement to align with the education initiatives of Air University. MGMWERX augments ongoing Air University programs, through events like Pitch Night, to enhance the production of high-quality, innovative research and ideas that span issues of importance to the Air Force. This includes, but is not limited to, doctrine, strategies, capability needs, operational concepts, training, education, and science and technology
