MGMWERX Hosts Grant Writing Workshop For Local Educators

(Montgomery, Ala.) – Staying true to their mission to help solve military and civilian problems, MGMWERX hosted a Grant Writing Workshop on Friday, January 24, 2020. Local educators gathered inside the four walls for extensive information on grant writing and fundraising. The workshop offered two separate session times, and was open to educators of all levels.

The first session kicked off at 8:30AM with a welcome from MGMWERX Director, Steve Warner, followed by a greeting from Air University Representative, Lieutenant Colonel Karvwnaris.

“Air University is excited to partner with MGMWERX for the grant writing workshops as improving our local school districts’ ability to reach out for grant opportunities can increase K-12 education opportunities within the River Region. Air University is part of this great community and we want to support our local partners as much as possible.” Lieutenant Colonel Karvwnaris stated about the event.

Melanie Lambert, consultant, fundraiser, and grant writing expert from TurnKey Solutions, led the conversation on Friday. Attendees received access to STEM, art, and education related grants curated by the MGMWERX team. They also received tips for successful grant writing, and advice on managing the details of a grant. Educators in attendance were granted the opportunity to return to MGMWERX for a follow-up event that allows for one-on-one feedback for currently active grant writing projects.
