Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General David Allvin, Visits MGMWERX

MONTGOMERY, AL – Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General David W. Allvin stopped by the Montgomery Innovation Hub, MGMWERX, Wednesday, June 16th. General and Mrs. Allvin toured the facility and stopped to discuss various topics with class attendees. DEFENSEWERX Executive Director, Brian Liesveld, AUiX Lead, Bill DeMarco, Air University Commander and President, Lt. General James Hecker, and Director of MGMWERX, Trent Edwards, and others briefed the Vice Chief on various MGMWERX, Air University and AUiX Initiatives.

“It was an honor to host the Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Gen David Allvin, at MGMWERX,” Edwards explained, “We were able to connect our MGMWERX mission in support of Air University to larger Air Force initiatives to accelerate change and the innovation of Air Force culture.” 

Edwards further shared, “At MGMWERX, we believe in the power of collaboration and innovation to change lives, communities, and the world. We are proud Air Force partners in the acceleration of ideas into action.”

General Allvin and Mrs. Gina Allvin came to Montgomery to speak at the Air University Wing and Group Commanders Course at Maxwell Air Force Base. His stop at MGMWERX afforded him a tour of the innovation space and a briefing on MGMWERX and other innovation initiatives at Air University.  

MGMWERX, a DEFENSEWERX Innovation Hub located in downtown Montgomery, AL, augments the innovation initiatives of Air University, state and local education programs, and national strategies to accelerate change. Created under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) with Air University, MGMWERX is tasked with the enhanced production of innovative research and ideas that span issues of importance to the Air Force.
